Unfiltered is the studio's hand in the physical world — a cross-disciplinary platform producing sound, objects, and on-chain artifacts. It connects music, visual systems, lifestyle, and cultural production into a single structure, built through hardware-based practice and decentralized systems.
The line works from four cities — Macau, Tokyo, Taipei, and Brisbane — and its Chinese name, 未過濾的, states the program plainly: nothing is filtered out. A seam sits crooked. A synth hisses. A record crackles. These are not defects awaiting correction; they are the work itself, recorded as it happened.
Under this name live several lines at once: synthesizers that map ancient diagrams into sound, clothing that treats a tee as a printed page, lifestyle goods from the Environ Experiment series, music releases, and works recorded on the Tezos chain as permanent artifacts. Culture, treated as material.

Unfiltered is a multidisciplinary platform producing sound, objects, and on-chain artifacts. It operates across physical and digital formats — connecting music, visual systems, lifestyle, and cultural production into a unified structure — built through hardware-based practice and decentralized systems. Its Chinese name, 未過濾的, says the same thing twice: nothing is filtered.

Philosophy
Unfiltered rejects optimization. It allows noise, error, and instability to remain. Not everything is refined. Not everything is corrected. What exists is recorded as it is. Imperfection is not a flaw — it is a condition.

Front stage, abolished
Erving Goffman argued that social life is a performance: we manage a polished front stage and keep the mess in the back. His own caveat: 'All the world is not, of course, a stage, but the crucial ways in which it isn't are not easy to specify.' Unfiltered's answer is to abolish the back stage. The crooked seam, the hissing synth, the crackling record — these are the things a brand is supposed to hide, and this brand shows them. If the self is a dramatic effect of what is presented, Unfiltered simply presents everything.

Practice
Four principles carry the philosophy into making. Imperfection Retained: errors are not removed; misalignment, distortion, and degradation are preserved as part of the process. Hardware First: sound is produced through physical machines, with DAWless workflows preferred for real-time interaction and unpredictability. Physical Before Digital: outputs are not limited to files — tapes, printed matter, and objects are primary formats, not secondary merchandise. Visual as System: visuals function as extensions of sound, carrying structure, noise, and identity.

Lines
Under the Unfiltered name sit several lines: the SC series synthesizers, seasonal clothing (26ss, 25aw), lifestyle goods from the Environ Experiment series, music releases from artists like Yagyu Ranzou, and on-chain works — Tezos-native NFTs and the $UFLT community token. Each line is a different material carrying the same point of view.

The name
Unfiltered's Chinese name, 未過濾的, says the same thing twice: nothing is filtered. The English name is not a metaphor — it is a production rule. Material is kept as it comes: imperfect, unstable, alive.

On-chain
Unfiltered extends its practice onto the blockchain as a native format, not a secondary release. Sound is recorded as a permanent, verifiable artifact — traceable, collectible, and persistent beyond platforms. The line operates on Tezos by deliberate choice: its energy-efficient, artist-driven ecosystem fits sustainable, continuous creation. $UFLT acts as a community-driven incentive layer, connecting artists, participants, and players through shared activity.

Music releases
Releases move through physical and digital formats as primary works. Yagyu Ranzou's limited editions — Ten Ko Atsushi Gatsu with its special pure-water edit, and Deterioration — appeared in 2025, alongside Asian Experiment Synth Sounds, a various-artists compilation shipped as a special MP3 player edition. In 2026, 制御音聲の夢 (A Sonic Field of Vulnerability) was released — a sound project gathering Ranzou.Y, EDISON CAEN, QSAMU-SATQ, and 佐藤理 across sound and visual work.
